Therapy Journey is teaching self-hypnosis through individual, family and group therapy.
How does it work?
1. It begins with a brief phone conversation for you and a counselor to evaluate how we can help you. You are encouraged to ask questions.
2. Scheduling the first meeting means a therapy journey has began. You are in charge of how far and where you want to go. A counselor is a skillful and knowledgeable guide helping you to discover your own pathways to get there. There will be some paperwork that can be completed through e-mail if you want to save your time in the office.
3. Therapy process is a very creative, adventurous, hard working and amazingly rewarding journey. You can go through that journey as an individual, as a family/couple and with a group.
Individual therapy. Teaching of self-hypnosis will be geared towards you individually meeting the goals, relaxation methods, imagery, metaphors and story telling as it applies to your specific life story.
Family/Couples therapy. We consider couples committed to coming to therapy together as a family unit, with or without children. Metaphors that encourage togetherness while nourishing growth of each family member will be developed with a whole family present and trained in self-hypnosis.
Group therapy. You will go through a scheduled process that teaches you techniques of self-hypnosis that you will apply to yourself individually and for which you will receive feedback from a counselor and from fellow group members.
4. The ending of therapy sessions does not mean termination of a therapeutic process nor therapeutic relationship. It means reaching conclusion that you are ready to continue that process on your own. Your therapist will always remain your therapist that you simply do not need to visit any more since you have incorporated the learning so well.
5. Follow up - feedback about effects of therapy is always welcome months and years after therapy sessions ended. A refreshment course is always available if needed.
